AV Bros. Puzzle Pro 2.0 Tutorial
You will learn how to create "puzzles" like we did for our gallery. Here we must say that different
samples in the Gallery may use the same technique as one of the steps while creating the particular
sample design (e.g. uniting small puzzle pieces into the big one.) Therefore, we will explain in
detail these "basic" techniques and will refer to them when necessary.
Note! In the creation of the design of the samples in the Gallery we used AV Bros. Puzzle Pro 2.0, except
regular and perspective shadows that were made using the internal tools of Adobe Photoshop 7.0.
But before you start reading the tutorials, take a look at the explanation of the specific terms
that we have used in the tutorials and in the User Guide too. The specific terms are:
Cutter,
Knife and Splitter. Actually, they have been described in the User Guide, but we decided to explain
these terms one more time and in a more visual way. :-)
So, before you click the Cut button in the Cutter and obtain your image cut into pieces inside the
plug-in (for further manipulations with these pieces) you should prepare the desired layout of the
knives and then use these knives (Splitter) for cutting your image. You are making these preparations
while the plug-in is in the Layout Mode. Learn more about this mode and how to prepare the desired
layout in the User Guide (Main Window - pp.4-14; Cutter Window - pp.33-41) and in the tutorial
"How to switch from one mode into another".
Here is the meaning of these terms in AV Bros. Puzzle Pro 2.0:

|
Cutter: this is the Cutter Window of the plug-in. You can find the detailed description of what this
window consists of and what this window is used for in the User Guide pp.33-41.
Knives: look at Fig.1: any selected line (colored with red) between the knots is the
single knife (selected knife) and any black line between the knots is the single knife too,
but the not selected. If briefly, you use the Shaper part of the Cutter to create the desired
shape of the knife and the orange line in the Shaper displays the knife's shape.
There are a lot of possibilities while creating the knife, therefore it is worthwhile to read the
User Guide (pp.33-37; 40 and 41) for all details.
Splitter: when you use the controls of the plug-in located in the Cutter and Main windows for
preparing the layout of all single knives, you construct one "big" knife, which we call Splitter
(it is selected, colored with red, in Fig.2). Despite the fact that the Splitter is mostly
used as a "big knife" for cutting your image into pieces, it can also be used as an object to be
drawn (read the User Guide, pp.12 and 13 -#6, to learn more about this feature.)
